In a year where we have so much to be thankful for, I think I am the most grateful for Silas' requests to use the potty. We didn't even ask him if he wanted to use it. He just ran up to me one day last week and announced that he needed to go poop and wanted to use the big boy potty. I about fell off my chair. We rushed to the bathroom and took off his diaper so that he could have two really good farts and declared, "Mom I pooped!" Since that fateful night we have much more productive trips to the potty. We are both excited and scared and in a little bit of shock that our little noodle is so grown up. Next thing I know he will be starting school. ARGH! I don't want to think about it. Take some time this week be thankful for the small things.

Visions of Vacation
When you ask about how our vacation went. These are a few of the images that flip through my mind. It's been several weeks now since we were all together and although I wasn't prepaired for what my life would be like while we were there. I certainly wish we could have enjoied it for a little longer. I'll be sure to post a few more pics at a later date. Enjoy!

"Singin'"
So we were riding in Papa's big truck going to ikea and as soon as we got on the freeway we heard a strange noise. It took us awhile for us to figure out where it was coming from, especially since Silas was sitting in his seat with such a straight face. But as the video shows Mr Silas was the noise maker. Just before I started recording Silas told Lulu (Juliana) that he was singin'. Way too cute! (And yes I know the video is side ways...We were not driving straight down into the ground. Please forgive me.)

I thought it would be a lot worse
So when I was pregnant everyone told me horror stories about their kids sitting on a new sibling. Or beating on the new baby or worse. So here is a clip of how Silas has been adjusting to Padraic. He wants to be a helpful big brother and is always trying to cheer him up or helping him keep his "blinky" in the right place. Enjoy!

HE'S 2!!!!!!
And yes, this is how he smiles for the camera. I can't believe that it has been two years since Silas came into our lives. He has been such a joy. He makes us laugh so hard and yes, on occasion he can certainly make us cry. But mostly we are just in awe of how grown up he is. He celebrated his birthday by going to a Dodger game with his dad and our friends Mr. Chris and Tommy. When he got home at 11pm he wouldn't go to bed until he told me all about the bats and balls and catches and popcorn and seeing Cleeleb (Caleb) and he ate an 'ott dog and the people clapped...a lot, oh and lets not forget...."Dahyers Did It, Mama!" (aka: Dodgers won!). I will post a little later this week so everyone can catch a glimpse of the monkey party.

How Time & My Brain Have Flown
If any of you are wondering what my almost two year old is up to these days, the photos above are a great discription. He is quite amazing. Everyday he is picking up more and more words and working them into sentences. I can't believe that it was two years ago that we were bringing him home from the hospital. And now we are about to start all over again with another one. To say that we are excited is an understatement. But terrified would be another word I would use to discribe what I'm feeling as well. It seems that just when I'm in the swing of things and have a routine life finds a way of changing it up for you. Silas can't wait for "baby" to get here. He talkes to my belly and gives it kisses and says "love oo baby!" Every night before he goes to bed. We'll see if he stays this sweet when the baby is here to stay. HAHA!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
We hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! It has been a very productive 2008 for us already. We are 7 days in and Silas has been cutting some new teeth and Jonathan had his 4 wisdom teeth taken out. If this is how the year is starting and can't wait to see what is in store for the rest of the year.
